I Eat Eggs!

I'm back to blogging. I'm sure that in time, you'll all realize just how boring this is, and you'll tell me to stay away for a while again. LOL

My kids and I woke up early today and went to McDonalds for breakfast. Graham got his sausage mcmuffin, and to his great disappointment there was no egg in it. I went to the counter and got a replacement egg--if you can call it that. Truth is, it looks more like a coaster, and bounces more like a ball, than an egg ever would.

Earlier on in his short life, he was allergic to eggs, but eventually outgrew it. My guess is that since egg was a forbidden food at one time, the avoidance played a great role in the fact that egg is now one of his favorite foods. He actually did a dance in the Dr.'s office the day he ate an egg the first time. With his little three year old arms held high in the air, he danced singing, "I eat eggs!"

One of my proudest moments. No one has ever danced for my food before.

Hi Darlene,
I'm really glad you're back to posting on this site. I always felt uncomfortable going over to that Ladies Magazine site to read any of your postings.

You'll laugh at this, but I almost mentioned you in my post yesterday because I was back in my pool boy in black socks outfit and I thought of your comment two years ago that led me to use that photo for a book cover.

I'm glad you're back to blogging here; your writing makes even eggs seem interesting.

Well, how funny --I was just sitting here thinking about you and wondering how you were doing and I happened to pop into your blog.

We have a Canadian air mass, as they say, sweeping over us tonight. It should be about 4 degrees-F above zero tonight. Five year old Max says no problem, he feels "as warm as a kangaroo in a pouch."

Good to hear from you again.

That's hysterical! The same thing happened to my son (only he was about 14 at the time)! We laughed because we had never really paid attention to what the "egg" looked like in an Egg McMuffin!

Glad you're back to blogging.

Those of us who don't do this as a living, or whose egos don't require us to blog constantly in the hopes that the world will notice, must take blogcations from time to time.

Eggs is one of the things on my list of allergies, too. I gave myself the desensitzing shots. I try not to eat eggs two days in a row. For instance if I make a quiche on Friday, I use egg beaters(whites) because we have scrambled eggs on Saturday. Its the only day we eat a "real" breakfast.

Cute post and nice to read up on you again! :) My oldest son is almost 21 and still gets sick on eggs. Certainly a reason for dancing for your son! :)

I have also had an egg allergy, and then not, and then...yes, again, so I dance to eggs when they fall off my list, too, Graham! It's that Snoopy Happy Dance that Charles M. Schultz so brilliantly animated in his TV specials of the 1970's! YES, eggs!! ;-D

But, not now. They're on my DON'T list again.

I still fix them every possible way for my kids, and live through them vicariously (trying not to drool into the pan!), hoping they are never given the No word on poultry's best product.
