My Nathaniel
My Nathaniel is a little stinker. Yes he is my "Gift from God." But at times, I've wondered if that was a gift of patience. Where Nathaniel is, stress is sure to follow close behind. But he's adorable, and he's my baby. :) Spoken as a true mother.
So the other day, my sister Bonnie was taking my kids out for the morning. Since a friend of theirs went along, they had to take two cars.
Bonnie asked Madison, "Who do you want to come in the car with us?"
Madison suggested that they bring Brendan's friend Nicholas with them.
Bonnie answered, "Well, I think that Nicholas would want to be with Brendan, why don't we bring Nathaniel?"
Madison quickly looks up, furrows her eyebrows and asks, "Why are you doing this to me?" Bonnie laughed because she knew that little brothers can be quite the annoyance at times, and decided to go with plan B.
Her husband Jerry was on the other side of the driveway, unaware of what just went on. So she walks over to him, "Jerry," she says, "I'll take Madison and Brendan and Nicholas in my car. You can take Graham and Nathaniel, ok?"
Jerry quickly looks up, furrows his eyebrows and says, "Why are you doing this to me?" So much for plan B.
Yep, when it comes to my baby, that pretty much says it all...
So Bonnie took Graham and Nathaniel in her car, and has since noticed the premature gray that set in.

I believe God places our children into just the right families
it may be to teach us as parents something
it may be because God knows that we are the best ones to parent our particular child
I have a similar experience I refuse to take My Trier and one of his best friends in my car when it comes to school trips they laugh too much together
which makes driving a challenge
The other night we had a dinner with a family with a daughter ~ my oldest daughter's age...and another daughter ~ my middle daughter's age...and TRIPLET girls ~ HAYDEN'S age..I believe he said the EXACT same thing..."why are you doing this to me.." He really enjoyed them ~good thing...he's seeing them again Saturday!! :)
I smiled...

Cute story, then they grow up and turn 15 and everything changes :o)) at least in my case they did.
I have an award for you at my blog!
Come by when you have a minute!
Why is it that the cutest kids are the ones that drive us nuts?! Maybe God designs them that way so we can't stay mad at them. Those twinkling eyes, the chubby little cheeks, the impish grin... Yeah, forgiveness comes pretty easy most of the time. Good thing, because mine needs it often enough!!!!
i love reading this post. actually this is my third time to read this. it just feels light to the heart. wonderful kids you have there. funny how they react sometimes.
Hey Darlene,
I can't imagine you having a stinker LOL!!!
Thankyou for coming by my blog. I miss BHB! I just have to remember to participate on Wednesdays at living well.
I did real well on Thanksgiving and stuck right to my program and did not gain an ounce. It is easy when you are living well LOL.
Ill try to remember Wednesday because I want to participate.
Enjoy your stinker today!!
I've got a Nathaniel, but his name is Sam..:))
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! ;)
Just checking in with you to see how you're doing. Five year old Max is our little comedian, but he's funny without realizing it. We are so happy to have him.
LOL, isn't it funny that others have picked up on his personality?
