I Dispise Wrapples!
I dispise Wrapples. You know why? They remind me of their commercials in which the beautiful red apples are wrapped in carmel, speared with a stick, then sent to the oven for melting. Sounds harmless enough, but the only problem is that these commercials from my childhood served as a constant reminder that it was September, which meant that summer was over, and it was just about bed time. Stink! It also means that the morning comes early.
I don't care how delicious they are. I blame them for years and years of the early morning wake-up call. And anways, do kids ever really eat the apple, once the carmel is gone? No.
Can you tell that I didn't get much sleep last night? Yeah, the kids started school full time today. Argh! Wrapples--to the oven with you!

I have NEVER known anyone, child or grown up to ever get past the caramel!:)
Our summer ended a few weeks ago and I am with you, the beginning is the hardest part...starting with getting up early to get a jump start on the day!!
Good luck!! we all are entitled to a little post summer mumbling:):)
peace!
it made me laugh!
lori
Oh, you had me drooling. I always liked a few bites of the apple. It was such a sour contrast to the carmel. I want one NOW! Heading to a fall fair next weekend so I'm counting on having one there!!!
Now if they could have figured out a way to embed the caramel, it would have been tempting at least!!
My 'big girl' started school kindergarten this morning too. Sigh. Summer was way too short even when I didn't have to think about school, but now that that's a factor, it'll seem all that much shorter. Another sigh.
Hope you have a blessed school year!!! Love ya!
id never heard of these before this morning
and I can see the logics in them but Id agree they wouldnt really make people eat the actual apples themselves
I remember as a child eating toffee apples and only ever getting through 1/2 the apple
and they probably very good for ones teeth either
That is hilarious! I am right there with ya, although some days (once school gets started) a big mouthful of straight carmel would calm my nerves! (ha!) May you find that "school groove" that we all seem to be looking a little harder for this year!
Darlene----Just forget the apple...and hand over the melting caramel!
YUM!---But then I love everything about fall. I don't like getting up early though no matter WHAT season of year it is!
Couldn't help but laugh though!
Have a fun filled weekend!!!
You crack me up, Darlene. I guess you are not a morning person - lol...BTW - I always ate my apple - didn't care too much for the caramel around it. Most of the time I made my sister eat the caramel.
Be blessed today and always.
Thanks so much for stopping by "ye olde blog." I love anyone who calls my kids "adorable!" :)
I enjoyed reading today, and btw, your picture is beautiful!
p.s. Caramel apples are divine, you definitely need to move past this one and EAT MORE WRAPPLES!!!!
You gotta "take back the power," girlfriend! :) Try the dippers, instead, ha ha.
I've never heard the word "wrapples" before, but I do love caramel apples. I always ate the whole thing...Hmmm....yup, I want one now. This is actually my first year homeschooling my dc and we actually couldn't wait for school to start. We are having so much fun with it.
I'm praying your little ones enjoy school this year and have a great year. Just think, you'll get more writing done. At least I hope...I love reading your writings.
Blessings,
JEN
I love those things but you are so right, it does symbolize the end of summer although we seem to be going straight to winter around here! Triple Argh!!!
Now to find some caramels ☺
I'm glad I'm not the only one morning the leaves that have fallen to the ground. I am seriously considering moving in with Iris for the winter, I don't think she would mind do you? :o))
i'm not a fan of caramel... love apples though. =D
But you have to admit- they are yummy! :)
I will miss summer, but fall is so beautiful here in Michigan. Love to watch the leaves change.
Blessings,
Sue
PS- I think I might have to make wrapples today!
