The Journey

Today is the day I usually dread the most every year. My husband goes back to work after a wonderful few weeks together and life returns to normal. But you know what? It isn't that bad. I think the thought of it all ending is really worse than it actually is. The sun is shining, this little guys are still adorabe as they sit around in their underpants waiting for me to say "Get dressed guys!" and my daughter is still the same adorable cuddly bear she was yesterday. Brendan is still sleeping till noon and all is peaceful in my home.

Everyday life is wonderful all by itself. We don't need a trip to the beach or a vacation to a far away land to make it any better than it is already. I wouldn't trade the moment I have here and now for any I could dream of myself, unless of course we're walking with the Father in the life here after! That's one place I long to be more than any other.

Like most things in life, we're so busy looking toward the destination that we miss the beauty of the journey. I thank God today that He's richly blessed me with a window seat.

Blessings,

I sit around in my underpants, too.

But I'm not waiting for anyone to tell me to get ready.

I love that last paragraph! In raising our children, I found myself constantly saying "I can't wait until they talk"..."I can't wait until they walk"...so on with every little loveable thing...looking forward to what they would become, I sometimes forgot to enjoy what they were!
That really made me think back! I do try and not do that with the grandkids!
Missed reading your blogs! But I know you've been enjoying family time!

Darlene, you are right - we are so richly blessed with the things in our lives that it is really doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to recognize. You know how much mom ends our calls on Saturdays "Stay healthy, sweet one"...

Thanks for sharing a little from your summer, my friend - missing you being around...

Be blessed today and until eternity.
