I'm Back

I kicked the caffeine habit. It took about a week, but finally the headaches were gone, and I was smooth sailing.

So here I am with good news and bad news--first the bad news... I'm back on the caffeine. I finally made it past the rough patch and found that I was eating like a horse instead of sipping on a calorie free Diet Pepsi.

The good news is that the kids are overjoyed for some reason. When I finally broke down and ordered an iced cappucino, Maddy hollered, "Yay! We get our old mom back!!" And the boys jumped on me for a group hug, and kissy wissy.

I'm wondering are they rejoicing with me, or was I really that cranky? :(

That caffeine is a nasty habit, is it not?
I think I'd like to kick the habit but I'm afraid I would gain 100 pounds.
Pass the iced tea please!

I think they are just rejoicing with you...or maybe not.
Believe me, I know how I get when I am off caffeine. Not sure why, but I am not myself...

I missed you online, but then again, I do understand that you are having a great time with your kiddos :)

Be blessed today and always.

hi darlene. i wrote down what you told me when you prayed that doors will be opened for me and jec and you didn't know why you were praying that. i'd like to say thank you because, as you know, i got us a new condo unit that we could call "home". right now, i'm again asking for prayers for me and jec. thank you.

you're so blessed to have a happy family. God bless you more.

Lack of coffee does NOT make me cranky; however, it does motivate the people around me to let me have my own way.

My brother swears they put addictive ingredients in caffeine. I say he's wrong. When we compare all of the scientific.....

This is too funny. My husband is the only person on earth I encourage to drink something with caffeine. He is a different animal when he goes cold turkey. or even warm turkey. He becomes a jive turkey.

Oh, I'm laughing hard! I can so relate to comments from my kids like that.
Welcome back to caffeine - all things in moderation, right????
Moderation - that's a relative terms isn't it? :)

It's so easy to get sucked into caffeine. I'll sip a Coke (regular--not of that sissy diet stuff), then reach for another and another until I've got the yips. I'm constantly in recovery.

I commend you for lasting that long without caffeine. I wouldn't even dare try.

Have been praying for Rose, Lind and you. Oh, please write me and tell me how things are. Love and hugs, me

That caffeine is just too hard to toss out the door, I allow myself that first 2 cups to get me going in the morning ~ after that I am ok...and so is everyone around me.

Everything in moderation, Darlene, everything in moderation!

That must include the occassional crankiness AND caffeine.

Don't know what I'd do without my daily dose....of both, sadly, but primarily, caffeine. I look forward to my Diet Coke....and then I'm off for the day...busy doing wonderful, kind, compassionate, and caring things for others...with a smile! That can't be bad--can it!????!

Caffeine is my drug of choice. Just hit Starbucks tonight and bought a pound of fresh ground coffee and a new coffee cup. Tonight was date night! Hope you have a great weekend!

At least you know you CAN kick the habit again if you want to!!!

Have you tried Diet Coke Plus? It's pretty, good, too. Has some extra minerals in it. My personal favorite is Coke Zero.

Darlene, I switched to Half Caf (Folgers) and it's been a good in-between thing. I still pick up a vanilla latte whenever I get the chance, though. Or sometimes I'll dump a spoonful of vanilla bean ice cream in my plain coffee. Try it.

I'm finding I can't drink "real" coffee after 3 p.m. though or I'm staring at the ceiling at 3 a.m.

That is cute...seriously. When my hubby tried to give up caffeine, mainly coffee it was not a fun time. I am thrilled he gave up smoking 20 years ago but I can live with the caffeine. It was "nice to have him back".

Hugs!
