Thankful Thursday - Friends

I have to quickly squeeze in here today before Thankful Thursday is over. Sunday was a gloomy day. It was one of those ugly-cry days when you close yourself in with God while He accepts an invitation to your pity party of one. "I have no friends!" gulp, sniff, choke... This went on for a little while, but thankfully I was wise enough to take it to God in prayer, and leave it at His feet.

The truth is I do have friends--lots of them, but on days like this, you can't see the roses for the thorns. Know what I mean, ladies?

The next morning I went out for breakfast with a new "friend," and as we were driving home she pointed to the west and said, "There's my old church, where I grew up."

"What? That's my church!" (instant connection)

Two days later we were at McDonalds with the kids enjoying each others company over lunch.

I'm thankfull for friends, both online and off, but mostly I'm thankful for a God who cares about me to attend my pity party of one, and to take my sorrow to heart.

Thanks God!

Oh boy do I ever know what you are talking about....I can't count the amount of pity parties I have had in the last month....and the amount of times I have asked God why I don't have that many friends.....and then he reminds me that I have lots...
Thanks for sharing your thankful heart this week!

We all have those pity party days. Aren't we blessed that the Father attends with us, and wraps us in His love, giving us joy after our tears!

Wow, I just had one of those. Well mine lasted a few days.

I'm your friend. I have not forgotten how when I entered this "Web World" and everything was in a language I did not understand, you swooped in and rescued me. Thank you so much for being my friend. And an awesome friend you are.

God Bless.

I wish you were a lot closer and I know that I would have breakfast or lunch with you at least once a week!
You are a precious friend to me!!!!

Hey, next time you're gonna have a pity party, invite me! I could use a good one. Want me to bring the chocolate?

I think it takes a lot of courage to post about those pity parties. Let's face it--we all have them. Thanks, Jesus! for setting us free and setting our minds straight! In Your name, amen.
