Thankful Thursday - Nature

I'm thankful for the beauty I'm seeing every morning as I drive my kids to school. Since I've been such a gardening nut lately, I slow down as I pass a few houses trying to get a better glimpse of a garden or two.
This morning I saw something glide across the road that looked like a green garbage bag from a distance, but I wasn't sure. Since the driver beside me decided to stop, I figured there must be something going. There was.
A mother duck and about eight little ducklings were crossing a very busy street, and in the hustle and bustle of the day, the traffic stopped to silently wait for the little ones to try their darndest at jumping the curb. Jumping, and falling, they finally managed to do it, and life resumed its busy pace.
I'm thankful for the rainstorm we had last night that fascinated me as I studied the clouds.
Thankful to God who created it all, and who's beauty is seen even in the small things of life, as they try their darndest to jump on the curb. Strength in weakness that is able to bring life to a standstill. Amazing.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. - Psalm 8:1

That must have been marvelous to see those ducks and cute to see them waddel across such a busy street. God does look after each and every living being He has created. Keep enjoying God's beauty.
Wow, what an awesome Norman Rockwell moment... the ducklings. How precious! I too love our drive to town when I go. We have a 3.5 miles drive up a forest road to get to the highway and it is always gorgeous.
Hugs to you!
Dear Darlene,
Thank you for your sweet post. I love nature also. The mother and her ducks must have been so precious to see. I love rain too. Thanks for including me in the prayer room. I have been praying for all.
I go by the nick name Angel ( Angel Mama) on my blog as I dealt with a scary individual once...LoL
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for all you do.

Enjoyed your post dear one, bless you.
i saw that storm too! it didn't hit us but i could see all the swirly dark clouds from my back yard.
Gotta love the prairies, heh?
Just the beauty of little chicks and the weather delight my soul. This was soothing to read.
Have a great day.
Love those baby ducks...I have some newborn just today birds in the fern hanging on my front porch...I am sooo excited! I try to peek every chance I get but momma bird is determined to peck my eyes out! :)
What I wouldn't give to see a good rain shower! :) You paint incredible pictures! Thank you!
There's nothing quite like Spring and the birth of new baby animals to open our eyes to the absolute revelation of a Creator!
Yes, so much to be thankful for!

A gardening nut?? You're in good company! I love that people would stop their "hurriedness" for the little duck family. I love the rainstorms, especially the smell of the freshly washed earth! That sounded rather poetic! Have a very blessed weekend.
It's wonderful that you're so in tune with what's around you. I saw geese and their goslings the other day, too. It's a great feeling to see little ones of all kinds!
Love to watch nature as well, but not in my pool area! Every year we have to shoo off a duck couple who wants to nest around the pool. The cats would love it!
ps i was going to add that i have even been known to watch the FIREWORKS from my own backyard. The ones that they have on July 1 in the FORKS!! (That's a 45 minute drive away from where I am)
Another plus for prairie life. :)
how cute but a bit dangerous silly mother duck
God is awesome and majestic!!! Praise His name
What a beautiful thankful list you are sharing with us, my friend.
I too marvel over the beauty He has created around us. I am especially thankful for sea-shores and sunsets :)
Be blessed today and always.
Beautiful...that warmed my heart!
I thought of you today as I was making your famous pasta salad that has become a summer staple at our house. mmmm...
