Blogging in April

I wonder how many others find it difficult to blog at such a beautiful time of the year. I'm LOVIN' this weather! I landed up digging three gardens--count 'em, one, two, three! :) And I'm grateful to have a teenager who's on the verge of manhood, but can still be bought with a large Slurpee! Yippee.

My husband is far more cautious than I, so if I were to tell him that I planned to cut a big kidney shaped hole in the center of the front yard, I know he'd nix the idea before I finished a sentence. So the boys and I got out there and had the garden dug before my sweetie got home. 20 minutes to dig a garden! Wow that kid is made for work. Michael says it looks good, but I have to admit, even I was nervous before digging in.

I'm feeling so refreshed these days, and so much like the old me that I've been missing for a while. Maybe it's the sun, maybe the gardening, or maybe it's the prayers. I'm guessing it's all three--thanks God!

So glad that you are enjoying the spring time with your kiddos. Also glad to hear from ya -- started to worry a little bit. But I guess, when you live up north, you just love the sun shining on you after a long winter...I guess I am just spoiled with the sunshine in our state. I don't think I appreciate it as much...

Blessings to you and yours, my sweet friend.

I thought you'd been a little absent lately! :) Absent in a good way..it sounds like you are having a blast...I love the part about still being able to buy your boy with a Slurpee...That still works for me too...

Blessings on you!!

Darlene, you must not live at 7,000 feet in Colorado because if you did, you'd be digging those gardens out from under a foot of snow! Uhhh... so much for the beautiful Spring weather here.

But I know what you mean. I LOVE spring. And I can't wait to get my garden in.

Yes! It's been hard to blog. I didn't blog much last week and had a couple of people check on me... LOL. I bet your yard looks pretty, too.

Three gardens?! That's impressive. I still need to get those darn weeds out of my flower bed. It always surprises me how weeds can survive blizzards while shrubs can't. Oh well...

Glad you had the chance to get outdoors.

Hi Darlene,

Twenty minutes to dig your garden!!!
I've been working to recondition one old flower bed all day every day for the past week!

And I'm still not done.

You must be living right. 20 minutes. I can't get over it. You must work harder than I do.

Yes - I've been struggling in my blogging thought process as well! That's why I've posted to CWO TWICE from my archives! :(
Yes, thanks, God.

Hmm, you've given me a great idea. I have such a large FRONT yard which I find rather boring - really, who hangs out in the front yard. So I have been sprucing it up lately too (short spaced out blogs for April here as well) but I *could* end some of the boring GRASS space by plunking a flower garden in the dead center. Yes, this will require some more thought & planning. I have dug up my backyard garden for veggies to be planted but some lucious flowers could make their debut in the front patch of grass.

Now, what kid can I hire with a slurpee...oh, maybe hubby! *grin*

Thanks for the ideas & I'm glad I'm not the only 'april blog neglector' though I made new plans to force myself for May.

I'm with you, Darlene...this gorgeous spring weather is definitely a picker-upper! :)

I don't have a green thumb, so during the summer months I rely a lot on hanging baskets and potted flowers to beautify my yard and deck. Can't wait to get those petunias flowing again!

Since it's rained three out of the four weeks in April, I've had no trouble blogging. Though when the sun came out last week for ONE day we did blow off homeschooling! I'm so glad we did because it rained the next couple of days.

Enjoy the sunshine even if you neglect your blog!
