Wrapping Things Up
Technically my family is still on vacation. There's only one day left and then we all get back to some serious work. We managed to find a few days during the holidays to go to our favorite hotel, which was nice.
My schedule has been all thrown off once again. I am such a night owl that I just can't fall asleep at night, so I read and computer and watch TV until my eyes get heavy, but only on holidays. As soon as the kids get back to school it's early to bed and early to rise once again.
I still have the tree to take down. Argh! I think that I've taken it down by myself every single year thus far, so this year I'm hoping to get the whole family in on the act before they all take off in different directions.
My dad just popped in for a visit with his little dog Scottie, so I should get off the computer.
I read a quote last night that I just love. Francine Rivers says, "I want what shapes me and my writing to be Scripture." Those are words that have nestled into my soul and are powering my brain today--inspiring me to press on.

I grumble every year "Everyone wants to put up the tree, there are so many of you I am tripping every where. But when I take down the tree NO ONE is around." This is NOT fair! I can totally sympathize.
I LOVE the quote, thank you for sharing that.
Nice to now you had a good holiday. I usually land up taking the tree down every years as well, but it is artifical to now big deal. The kids helped this year with taking some of the ornaments off.
Like the quote. Good author.
We got our decorations down yesterday. All packed in boxes. The boxes sealed with bug-proof tape and put back in the attic...
Tomorrow we'll find the decorations we overlooked.
Happens every year.
me too, darlene. there are so many "voices in the wind" and things that wait to shape our hearts.
i want Jesus.
"I want what shapes me and my writing to be Scripture."
ooohhh..thanks for sharing this quote. I love it!
I haven't read Francine Rivers in ages, though my mom is working through her novels.
The more I read scripture, the more I can't help but spill it out, in as many ways as I can.
p.s. my tree is still up too -- taking it down ALONE tomorrow. :)
Oh - yes - is it nice to 'steal' away from daily routines once in a while. I praying/hoping that God will allow us to 'steal' away for a week this year.
I love the quote by Francine Rivers - she is a very wise woman.
Thanks for the quote~it's great. I too know how you feel about taking down the tree.
One small suggestion when you can't sleep~try praying.
What a beautiful post! I know when I have to write something for a deadline or when I get writer's block, I just pop open my bible and start reading. Before long, something has come to me!
Oh I love that quote too.
"I want what shapes me and my writing to be Scripture." I love this quote also... Thank you for sharing this. Love and hugs, Lynn
