Please Pray

I received this letter this morning. Please pray for her and her daughter:

Darlene,

I heard about your website on KCIS - Christian Living - today and
thought that you said there was a place that a mother had requested
prayer for her daughter. I need to have prayer for my daughter. She
is a struggling single mom, and is addicted to alcohol. She has
consented tonight to go to a recovery program in Illinois, Reformer
Unanimous School of Discipleship. She does not feel that God can
possibly love her anymore and is afraid of the change and
commitment. She is very confused and scared. Please pray that God
will give her the courage to make this commitment and follow
through. She wants a new life but sees no hope for herself. I know
that God can and will change that but she needs help to find her way
out of her situation.

Thanks for your prayers,

Cheryl

I've seen many times (and even experienced in small degree myself) the powerful grip that guilt can have a person's being. It is surely Satan's easiest tool. Which is one reason I refuse (mostly successfully) to give in to guilt. God loves us no matter what.

P.S. One reason I haven't commented much here is because I use Firefox at home and there's something crazy wrong with the new Blogger in Beta blogs' comment pages in Firefox: the pages get caught in what appears to be an infinite loop of refreshing, not allowing me to post a comment. It's one reason I gave up on the dream of recreating Think Sink on the new platform (that plus I've got better things to do with my time, like spend it with my fiancée, brush my teeth--you know, things like that).

BTW, nice digs here. I like the fish.

Isn't God the coolest guy. That Cherly listened to the radio program just at the time you were talking about prayers...God is incredible, but then again - I knew that!!!!

Praying for Cheryl's daughter right now.

Praying for this single mom, that she may know true freedom in Christ and choose to surrender to Him totally. Jeff is right - feelings of unworthiness only keep us from God....it's just one tool of Satan to confuse the issues. Praying that she will "just come as she is" to Him, so that He can do a new thing in her heart.

Father God,
You know this daughter's name, the numbers of hairs on her head, the howl's of her heart...You love her more than can be fathomed. Melt her heart with Your unconditional love. Let her see Your face everywhere she turns, feel Your love embrace her, closely. Be her Healer, Father. Bring Cheryl and her family Wholeness, as only You can. Behold, You make all things New. Here too... In Jesus Name.

Darlene? God is using you, girl. Press on!
