Nail Scarred Hands

~ Liz Curtis Higgs~
I had trouble with this quote. Maybe I say that alot--I don't know. Some days I just can't think. I kept trying to figure it out, wondering what emotional experience have I had? Do I want to share them, or would that be getting waaaay deeper than I wanted to go with my writing?
Then I read Iris's post at Sting My Heart, and I got it. It's not about me--it's about Him. It doesn't really matter where I've been, or what I've done, it's past. The past that does matter is what He's done for me and what He's done for us. Death that we might live.
I received a letter this morning from a woman who just came through the worst time of her life losing friends to a tragic fire, and left homeless. She clicked on the ready button at CWO and wrote us, "I'm ready to follow Him too."
With the words I choose to comfort this woman, one thing I can add is this... "Wherever you are spiritually whatever you have been through emotionally, you are already wrapped in the Lord's embrace. Held close by nail-scarred hands." ~ Liz Curtis Higgs.
Visit Sting my Heart to read her post and to find a list of other participants this week.

How wonderful that the Lord used CWO that way! I pray that her burden is lifted by knowing that she is being prayed for.
Thanks for sharing that story, Darlene.

I'm sure you brought a smile to her life, just as you do to so many others so often. God works through you and for that I am so very grateful!
I'm having difficulty with something today and this woman's story shows me that we all have our crosses to bear and some of them are much, much more difficult than others.
Maybe God didn't make it easy to figure how to write about this quote... He instead chose for you to LIVE it in a note to one just newly born in Him. And it doesn't get any better than that.

It is so good when God takes our humble understandings and transforms them into truth that touches others. PTL for that delightful READY button, and for using CWO to reach a dear sister in need. Aren't you regularly floored at how God is using the internet, and blogs, to share His word and His love? I just marvel at His ways, and thank Him for the privilege of participating in His works!
Blessings on you, from under the pile,
Elisa

You are right, Darlene - it is not about us - it is about Him. He has taken every little thing from our past and nailed it with Him on the cross. But not only the past, but also the present and the future - how awesome is that?
I am always thrilled to hear that God used CWO to witness and introduce Christ to someone :) - very cool...
Blessings on your day and always...
That is it exactly. He is mroe than enough and for those who have yet to find Him, He is that for which to seek.
"Death that we might live." Simply put and it says it all. CWO has been such a blessing to my life. Thank you.
"It doesn't really matter where I've been, or what I've done, it's past. The past that does matter is what He's done for me..."
That really touched a nerve.
Thanks
OH praise God for that woman's letter. And sometimes it is hard to remember it is not about us. "Death that we might live" is something my brain may never understand, but thankfully all I have to do is accept it.
blessings.
